Das von der ÖLWG 2008 gegründete und betriebene Internationale Ludwig Wittgenstein Institut (ILWI) versteht sich als interdisziplinäre Plattform für wissenschaftliche und kulturelle Projekte, die in Zusammenhang mit der Weitergabe und Nachfolge von Wittgensteins Philosophie stehen. Das Programm des Institutes umfasst regelmäßig stattfindende Workshops, Summer Schools, Wittgenstein-Vorträge und die Möglichkeit zu längerfristiger Forschung in Kirchberg für Akademiker*innen und Studierende. Das ILWI will damit eine ständige Einrichtung für die intensive Zusammenarbeit sowie den Austausch für PhilosophInnen und WissenschaftlerInnen aus der ganzen Welt bilden.
Die Ludwig Wittgenstein Summer School erwies sich in den letzten Jahren nicht nur für Studierende aus aller Welt, sondern auch für die unterrichtenden Professor*innen als bereicherndes Erlebnis:
